It has definitely been an interesting couple months. For one, I’ll be auditioning for NBC’s The Voice in August. So I’ve been prepping for that. Everything logistic has worked like a dream, however, and it makes things miles less stressful. I can actually focus on my audition!
Piano lessons have been going for a month and a half now - simply smashing. I think I will want some type of private music teacher for the rest of my life. It’s the best thing for a music addict like myself - makes me excited about life :) Plus it’s great to know some of the greatest hits on the keys, now.
In other news, I gave in a bought an iPad :D I had it shipped and it should be here tomorrow sometime! And that’s not all…I also got an Alesis IO dock to record with it. That should be here next week sometime. But for now, I’m stoked about this iPad. I’ve been finding some cool sites that give reviews on some of the most common apps - many that I have NEVER even heard about (http://ipad.appstorm.net/). It’s a great site, and I am chomping at the bit to start downloading some of those wondrous apps!
Anywho. Personally? I’ve been good. Hoping to adopt a better sleep cycle…I’m not getting much. I got 8 hours a couple nights ago - on a work night! - which was the first time in…probably a couple years. Lol. So that felt good.
Also…I’ve been discovering just how much I love my parents - specifically my dad. We’ve been texting a bit lately, and he’s just being really thoughtful. Talking about ‘back-in-the-day’ and what it was like when I was little. Super nostalgic. In a GREAT way… Have I ever mentioned that my dad is probably the most incredible man on the face of the earth? Well now I have. So, hold no doubts…he’s the best. I’m ridiculously blessed.
Went to the ER for the first time last night. We have a house guest with diabetes who was having high blood sugar levels all day. She ended up staying at the hospital overnight, and will again tonight. But I gotta say, if there’s anyone I’d be willing to drive to ER and stick around with until 3am on a work night, it would be her. She is just so optimistic and inspiring - even in not-so-bubbly situations. She knows how to smile, you know? One of those people who does NOT emotionally exhaust you, but makes you appreciate the less-finer things in life. She’s got a give, I tell you :) And if you get a chance, keep her in your prayers - she was scheduled to fly back home this afternoon, but obviously that didn’t happen. Pray for her health and safety.
Mkay. I’ll check in again, soon. Nighty night! :)
